Pulps for fine paper

Botnia’s pulps for fine paper are especially well suited for the manufacture of high quality fine papers. Botnia’s fine paper pulp range includes long-fibre softwood pulps and  short-fibre hardwood pulps, needed in the manufacture of fine paper grades.

Fine papers are used for printing, writing, and photocopying. For example, art and cookery books, as well as many magazine covers, are printed on fine paper. For these purposes, clean paper with even brightness and good printing properties is required.

The key characteristics required of pulp are:

  • high brightness level
  • cleanness
  • tensile strength forming rapidly in refining
  • good stability of brightness
  • good optical properties (short-fibre pulp)
