Our company

The forest industry company Oy Metsä-Botnia Ab - marketing name Botnia - was founded in 1973, and it manufactures high quality bleached pulp grades under the name Botnia. Botnia is owned by M-real Oyj, Metsäliitto Osuuskunta, and UPM-Kymmene Oyj.  Our pulp mills are located in Joutseno, Kemi, Rauma, Äänekoski.

We have earned our position as the most efficient pulp manufacturer in Scandinavia through our continuous investments in innovative technologies and operational policies, as well as in our people. We are proud of our product development which has resulted in Botnia's pulp being ranked as one of the best in the world in fiber properties. Our main products are bleached softwood, birch, and eucalyptus pulp. Botnia's pulp grades have been developed for the manufacture of high quality printing papers, folding box boards and tissue.

Botnia offers its customers comprehensive service which includes:
